Hollywood, Los Angeles After graduate school, Nelson moved to Hollywood and treated the move itself as a transformation project. At the Chateau Alto Nido, the apartment became an evolving environment combining painting, sculpture, found furnishings, mirrors, a custom aquamarine shag form and the lights and mythology of Hollywood outside the windows. The project blurred domestic life, self-invention and artistic staging. Hollywood was not simply a location but a feedback system: a place where ambition, theatricality and the awareness of their absurdity could coexist.
