ZaratExperience

2006

Marvimon, Los Angeles A large-scale performance, installation and film built around the music and persona of Nelson's cousin Eddie. The event unfolded through successive identities, beginning with a quasi-prehistoric rite, moving through disco and video feedback, and ending with an autobiographical performance in which the theatrical persona gradually collapsed back into Eddie himself. Costume, choreography, family photographs, custom graphics, staged arrival by public bus, HD cameras and pre-existing works were folded together into a temporary mythology that was simultaneously ridiculous, affectionate and carefully constructed. Collaborators / contributors: Eddie; Bobby; a large volunteer cast of dancers, stylists, performers and film crew.
